Recycling is important to me. I upcycle frames, vases and glass building blocks to create art that reflects the things that I spend time enjoying.

Acrylic paint on the reverse of glass. 3D items are baked so they can be hand washed.

Nash Cox | Chariton
Nash Cox Studio and Gallery
FB: NashCoxArt
IG: NashCoxArt

When not in his studio, this Iowa native can be found at the occasional car show or more likely wandering obscure country roads in his seventy year old truck in search of his next automotive muse.
Nash Cox is a self taught Artist who works mostly in watercolors to create highly detailed automotive paintings. Sourcing images from his own photographs, Nash's paintings present the viewer with a little bit of the soul and a little bit of the history of each vehicle he paints.
An internationally recognized Artist, Nash's paintings can be found in private collections as far as Puerto Rico and Australia.
A signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society, Nash works from his studio and gallery located in Chariton, Iowa where he lives with his wife, Terry, and their two dogs.
I create very realistic paintings of classic and vintage automobiles in watercolor and slightly abstract paintings in acrylics.

Evan & Summer Hoyt | Norwalk
The Artists Hoyt
IG: TheArtistsHoyt

Evan and Summer Hoyt are The Artists Hoyt, a married, artistic duo from Norwalk, IA whose collaborative work draws inspiration from natural and spiritual themes to interpret themes of passion, loss, and triumph. Summer is a painter and illustrator with a penchant for animal and floral subjects, and Evan interprets her designs with hand-cut stencils culminating in layered, textured paintings.

We create ethereal, expressionistic paintings using layers of acrylic, stenciling, and spray paint. By interpreting subjects such as mated animal pairs or flocks of birds, our body of work unites the natural world to themes such as passion, loss, and triumph.

Leslie Leavenworth is an award-winning painter based in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up in Virginia, she discovered her love for painting alongside her father on the docks of the James River. Originally trained in realism, her work has evolved to blend representation with abstraction, allowing intuition to guide her creative process.

Impressionistic watercolors and acrylics of landscapes, still life's, and figures.

Bruce Litterer | Shell Rock
Bruce W Litterer Artist

Bruce is a self-taught award winning artist from Shell Rock, Iowa, who finds wonder in rural Iowa through realistic farm life and wild life in colored pencils for the past ten years. Growing up on a dairy farm, Bruce never lost the memories of the past as a kid on a farm as he draw the beauty of the past through his colored pencil artworks.

Susan Mohr | Polk City

Growing up on a farm in Petersburg, Iowa, I discovered my passion for art early, often sketching magazine images as a child. This creative spark led me to earn a BA in Art and Design from Iowa State University. After a career in residential and commercial design sales, I took time to focus on my growing family. During that transition, I rediscovered painting and dedicated myself to creating unique pieces.

My work as an acrylic painter is rooted in a traditional approach on canvas, with a strong focus on detail. I often zoom in on my subjects, breaking them down into their smallest elements while simplifying the background to draw attention to the composition. This allows viewers to fully engage with the intricate details at the heart of each piece.

In my artmaking, I follow "the trail of curiosity: observe-wonder- research-express the discovered Joy."

My work is whimsical, light, and filled with a sense of delight. I use watercolor paints and black marker to express the awe and wonder of life. I cannot rule the circumstances of each day, but I can choose how I am going to respond to them; and I choose to leave traces of joy. My artwork seems to help others do the same.

Louise O'Donnell | Ames

I am a native of Iowa and graduated from Iowa State. I've lived on both coasts and in America's big cities, pursuing a career in creative and merchandising. I returned to Iowa to smell the flowers, have a dog, and spend time with family and friends, and to paint! I resumed painting starting with watercolor, then on to oil and pastel, Now I paint mostly with pastels. I love the space of Iowa with the big skies, and I love the people of Iowa. I often paint from historical photos of people doing ordinary things. I paint subjects that mean something to me emotionally and I hope the viewer gets the same emotional reaction to what I paint.

Realistic depictions of Iowa's landscapes and buildings, and people doing casual things. Urban street scenes.

I am an artist who specializes in painting and loves to study florals and vegetation. I paint from photographs of my own garden, as well as bouquets I curate from local floral shops. Through still life compositions, I strive to capture botanic life as a reflection of emotional memories. Plants are a standard in life's big and small ceremonies. My goal is to produce relatable artwork that inspires remembrance of an experience.

Inspired by a lifelong fascination with nature, I paint to record botanical beauty. I can get lost in the details of a flower, or ear of field corn. Nature often helps create core memories, and I have learned that creating work based on common Midwest vegetation, inspires many viewers to recall fond experiences. This shared love of nature, celebrated on a canvas, offers ongoing joy.

Diane Tough | West Des Moines

Through my paintings I contribute beauty, peace and serenity to the world.  I paint children engaged in the simple pleasures and playful activities of childhood. The scenes I depict are frequently set in mid-western landscapes of sunshine, blue skies, green grass or snow. Childhood intrigues me as a fleeting opportunity to be genuine and authentic, a time when mindfulness is natural and self-consciousness does not exist. This presents as an easy charm that delights me!

My oil paintings typically depict figures in landscapes and are filled with light and color.  They range in size from 8"x 10" to 30"x 40".  Besides original paintings, I will sell prints and cards with images of my work.

Robert Zeidler | Ankeny
FB: Robert Zeidler Studio

For over 45 years I worked in the Midwest as an advertising designer and art director, but now I'm retired and focused on fine art. Like advertising design, painting involves many of the same processes with importance placed on information gathering and intelligent editing. My painting style, which I refer to as abstract realism, is based on objects, compositions, and motifs that I design and refine in black and white. Then, in the heat of battle, I'm free to paint with intuition. Realism is not my goal. I don't want the truth. I seek a beautiful lie.

My paintings are watercolor on paper, acrylic on paper, and acrylic on canvas. I enjoy abstracts and will have a few, but the majority of work centers around my midwestern life and values; landscapes, river scenes, nature, and farm produce.
