Wooly Bear Works
|
As an artist, I take my inspiration from the woods, fields, and riverbanks near my home. My love of felting began with a hat-making class 10 years ago, and has grown from a hobby to a full-time endeavor. I find wool fiber in particular to be a versatile medium, with endless possibilities for creating 2- and 3-dimensional works. My current collection includes hats, scarves, shawls, jewelry, hanging lamps, framed works, and more. My joy is in discovering new ways to stretch the limits of fiber to create unique pieces that add beauty to people's lives.

Betty Chamness Trost has a fondness for stones, wool fiber, textures, and bright colors. From Pacific Northwest beaches I collect naturally smooth stones then paint them with brilliantly colored dotted mandala designs. On other stones I hand felt then hand embroider the tops in glorious garden designs. Each of my stone pieces are hand made and fit beautifully into the palm of your hand for soothing comfort and meditation. I also create needle-felted wool pictures that feature garden motifs and silk winged bumblebees. And I knit then wet-felt luscious wool slippers to order. I love color and texture.
