I’ve lived in Mt Pleasant for most of my life. When I moved back after college, I found myself with limited choices for a job. I was blessed to stumble into glass, finding I had a natural gift for it. I cut my glass teeth in a traditional stained glass studio learning how to restore old stained glass & cut new stained glass windows. My love of the unique& changeable way that glass transmits & reflects light, & curiosity of new techniques drew me to fusing in my free time. It was love at first melt. The dimensionality & blurred boundaries compared to traditional glass are a fit to how my mind works – taking what I’m supposed to do & then asking, what else could I do? My art tends to reflect my love of nature, and admiration for aged materials. It often combines repurposed materials- from vintage aluminum, to barn wood, to vintage textiles- with glass. It adds a flavor of uniqueness, beauty, and practicality..... "because I had it, and I wanted too see if I could" is a driving force to my creative process. My creations share the light of glass with eye-catching jewelry, art pieces for windows or walls, a pop of color for the garden, Christmas tree ornaments, or a glimmering bit of glass whimsy hung catch the sun. Combining fused glass, traditional stained glass techniques, and adding a dash of other materials, give life to my daydreams in glass.

I am an artist of many mediums, but I am passionate about glass. I love the way glass feels and looks when it's melted and coaxed into different shapes. Having been featured in Better Homes & Gardens magazine allowed me the opportunity to take classes from some amazing glass masters. I love to demo and share my love of glass with anyone who wants to learn. I pride myself in continuing to learn about glass and stay current with techniques and color.
