Welcome to Art on the Prairie 2018. Art on the Prairie is a unique festival celebrating art, music, poetry, and the joys of small town living, all wrapped up in a two-day event. This year's event will be Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11.
Poets will read for approximately 20 minutes at one-half hour intervals both Saturday and Sunday. Applications will be reviewed by the Poet's Corner sub-committee and readers will be selected based on the strength, subject and crafting of the poems submitted. The only qualification we ask you to keep in mind when submitting poems is that Art on the Prairie is a family event and younger children may be in attendance.
Poem submission deadline: April 30, 2018. Applicants will be notified of their status by July 15. Once applicants have been notified please see our website for specifics about event times and places. Poets will be listed under the menu heading "Art on the Prairie 2018", then the sub-heading link below it "Performing Arts". Once we have received all poetry entries we will complete the selection process and contact you by email about the day and time you will be reading. We will expect that your schedule is flexible to work with the time and date assigned for your participation.
