Sarah McCoy started The Permanent Collection in 2007. It is a full service design and print shop that specializes in fine press vintage printing. I produce printed products such as art prints, cards, stationery and a variety of other printed material.

I established the Foolproof Press in 1976 as a private press for my own entertainment and education. I have been collecting and using letterpress equipment since that time. I set, ink and print everything by hand directly from antique and vintage handset metal and wood type and engravings that I have collected over the decades. I volunteer as a director at Printers' Hall in Mt. Pleasant, IA and also teach letterpress poster printing at the Des Moines Art Center.
